The Generalmusic GEM Pro2 was one of the first digital pianos to go beyond straight sampling, layering physical modelling over its sampled voices to recreate what makes an acoustic instrument feel alive: open strings ringing in sympathy as you play elsewhere on the keyboard, and the way harmonics fade as the dampers land. Underneath that sits a properly specified stage instrument, with an 88-key hammer-action keyboard that has real weight to it, an 8-band graphic EQ with dedicated bypass for shaping the piano to a room in seconds, and 64 Performance memories storing splits, layers, effects and MIDI routing for instant recall. Beyond the pianos you get electric grands, Rhodes and Wurlitzer voices, clav, vibes, organs, strings and pads, plus a 2-track scratchpad sequencer, MIDI In/Out/Thru and a direct serial port to a computer.
